In Slint the man-db package is named man to avoid an automatic "upgrade" to a man Slackware package, that would override the files shipped in man-db, including the man binary in /usr/bin. This "upgrade" won't be proposed by the utilities slapt-get, gslapt or spi shipped in Slint, because the default slapt-getrc prioritize the Slint repository over the Slackware repository based on the package name. For the same reason if an user inadvertently installs a man package from a Slackware repository using one of these tools, the utility gslapt will then suggest to replace it by a Slint man package after detection of an possible update by salix-update-notifier.
