SlackBuilder

slackbuilder is a tool to automatically build Slackware packages
from source repositories.
A source repository is something like these:

 ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-10.2/source/
 http://www.slacky.it/download/

every SlackBuild is in a different directory and there is a FILELIST.TXT
that lists all the files contained.
So you can use slackbuilder with official Slackware sources.

Besides slackbuilder supports dependencies: if there is a file called
slack-required or requires that lists all the dependencies of a package
in the same directory of the SlackBuild, slackbuilder asks the user if
it has to install these packages before.
slackbuilder only downloads the files related to the single package you
want to build, so you don't have to maintain large ports tree on your hard
disk and and --update only takes few seconds.
slackbuilder permits to better manage source repositories: if you put a
file called sources that contains a link (or more) to the real software sources
in the same directory of the SlackBuild, slackbuilder directly downloads
the sources from the link you provided. In this way you don't have to
put all the tar.gz and tar.bz2 on your repository.
slackbuilder also supports slack-conflicts and slack-suggests to specify possible
conflicts and suggested packages.

repos.source

little script to create a source repository with support for package versions.
A slackbuilder's repository is like Official Slackware source: a group of
directories, each containing a SlackBuild, with on the root of the repository
a FILELIST.TXT or FILE_LIST that lists all the files and a CHECKSUMS.md5
with md5 checksums.
This is sufficient for slackbuilder to work well with the repository, but if
you want slackbuilder to manage package versions also you need to create another
file called SOURCES.TXT that lists the version number for each source package
available. You can create it with repos.source.
